Steffi is honest with her parent, and you should be too! Knowing is half the battle.
No wait, please never take any cues from my characters.
In this scene: Steffi confronts Heinrich about teaching her how to shave
what should be in this scene:Heinrich confronts steffi about teaching him how to shave. That overly regular stubble chinstrap is just creepy dude. And I say this as someone who once sported a chinstrap (until one too many people made an Abraham Lincoln allusion)
Hugs for everybody!
…or that’s how I interpret it, what with the blurs and such.
Chandra’s stealing both hugs?
For a track called “Mess” things seemed to have gone pretty smoothly. I mean, except for the part with Mr. Mystery-Goat-Face making some ominous foreshadowing, their raid of the furry bar seems to have gone off without a hitch.
I only just remembered the Track name. I think that was clever on Cagle-sensei’s part, as the only “mess” was the obviously-foreseen mess everybody made in the comments! Things really got out of hand, eheheh….
I can’t believe it took this comment for me to realize that the comments on page 300 even topped the comments on Body Movin’ (I’ve been here the whole time, I swear!). Looking back on that hot mess, I’m kinda wishing I had joined in and backed you up. But no, I chose instead to mourn in silence for the platonic nature of Steffi and Ben’s relationship.
I love the subtle speed-blurring in panel 3 that also puts the focus on Steffi’s face.
there are also whoosh lines
That is a neat trick, alright. I’ll have to remember it…
Ahw that made me smile :3
Never be afraid to tell your parents you did something stupid.
Most of the time, they can relate because they did the same dumb stuff as you as a kid.
Except in cases like this, because I doubt that Dad was a crime fighter back in his olden days.
But still tell them the truth, it leads to a bettter understanding of eachother!
He may not have fought with his fists but he risked life and limb to turn his parent’s company from war profiteering to wholesome entertainment. I’m sure there’s more than a few days he can relate to Steffi’s attempts to interfere with the plans of illicit businessmen.
Also he’s probably used to the idea of her taking on the bad guys since she’s been interfering with their plans ever since she was little. Remember, when she foiled that assassination plot and got her leg shot off?
Too late! My role model is the rabbit.
Steffi: “Me and Ben and The Robot dressed up as furries and went to this furry bar and tasered some people and choked this one guy!”
Heinrich: “…okay, I can see how that would be a little awkward to talk about.”
I love this page soo much – almost brings a tear to my eye.
Or maybe I’m just tired – did an all-nighter last night…
Panel 3: HUG THE SHIT OUTTA HIM, STEFFI. It’s a Good Day to Hug Hard. Live and Let Hug. Octohuggy. The Hugvengers. The Hug Knight Rises. Pacific Hug. Shawn of the Hug.
…That got out of hand.
Out of hand? No! It was hugtastic! Hug Another Day! Full Metal Hug! On A Clear Day You Can Hug Forever! Hug and let Hug! Hug or be Hugged! Hug Episode 4, A New Hope! Hug 2 Electric Boogaloo! You can’t handle the hug! I hug myself to feel alive! Hug and Jerry! Hugging Arizona! My Own Private Hug! The King’s Hug! The Unbearable Lightness of Hugging! Hugging At Tiffany’s! How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love the Hug!
d’awwwww, well we are almost at the end of volume three (another chapter), i am cry for it’s page. çuç
Someday, I wanna grow up to be just like Winston.
This is an emotionally beautiful strip, I really have nothing negative In can say.
It’s time to forget all the arguments and just have a big hug-fest in this comment section.
I think we can all say this father-daughter bond is something special, and this page is a great way to end a chapter (-This chapter sure has been all over the place..)
Also, action shot in panel 3 has great effects and I can totally feel the emotions in panel 4. Nice.
Not those kind of hugs.
What a lovely way to end a track. I love this comic because I can’t always predict which direction the story will go! several times in this track (as well as several past tracks) I find myself asking “what happens next?” as well as seeing things that contradicted my predictions and expectations (in a good way of course). the best stories are those that surprised you the most!
Cagle-sensei is right. Being honest with your parents can wind up with you in a LOT of trouble. It’s best to wait until you’re living on your own to come forward with anything important.
On the other hand, some people really do have cool parents who can be talked with!
D’aaaaw! Father-daughter bonding moment over tales of vigilante adventure.
BEST. DAUGHTER. EVER.
Pacman: Bitchin’ poster mat.
Of course, they don’t realize that Winston is actually the leader of Alter and Steffi is revealing everything in front of him
Impossible, they called the Goat Boss.
The best bosses (esp. for criminal organizations) pull the strings without the rank-and-file even being aware of their existence. The goat is nothing but a figurehead. In fact, Winston ordered me to tell you this. He’s playing the game that many levels higher than you are. Don’t worry, it will all make sense in the end. I mean, maybe not for you personally, but to him it works.
Guess you missed the part where he called himself Hircus also. =-P And Canis is already informed of the situation. Or that Cebus was already taking care of it?
303 sir… Try to remember they’re all pawns here to the king. And Lagos isn’t in charge. Even Zhuhou isn’t in charge. Everything is a piece of the puzzle. It’s the picture you can’t see yet.
Speaking of Reed, I can’t wait to see what kind of a cybernetic arm he got.
