One more page left of the chapter!
That’s one hell of a joystick on that arcade cabinet.
Hell of a button layout, too. Granas only knows what kind of games she plays on it.
It’s like MC Escher made an arcade panel.
you guys are so cool. i hope someday everyone is lucky enough to have commentators like you.
I don’t know if this is how you intended it, but I read that as you wish that everyone had witty commentators who just followed them around and commented on their everyday life.
That’d be so awesome. I’d be more motivated to actually get up and do things.
L. O. L.
if you mean by sarcastically pointing out minor mistakes then yes why not.
“hahah wow thats some great colour sense man. did you mug a clown in the dark for that shirt?”
“dude maybe if you eat your lunch any slower you’ll start eating it backwards.”
“man you’re a great artist. you can almost draw as well as mozart.”
This is something everyone requires. Now more than ever.
So in answer to your post I say
@Sleepcircle: I for my part was expressing neither sarcasm no criticism. I was simply commenting on the surprising size of Steffi’s joystick. For all I know, Cube has drempt up some unique fictional game for Steffi to have, and the joystick is deliberate as such.
I was saying “that joystick is odd”, not “”that joystick is bad”.
I second the motion for personal commentators!
Stef, dont hide things from your family!
Find a way to bring this without getting grounded!
42 will be able to perfectly explain everything anyways.
Come on, Steffi. The man just stayed up way past his bed-time repairing your crime-fighting equipment. He’s cool.
Whoa, ouch. I mean it’s a valid point to Dad but, really? That seems like something kinda heavy to lay on your daughter because she doesn’t wanna tell you something.
I agree, it comes across a bit as “Steffi, are you growing up and starting to want to live your own life? Because I might have to emotionally blackmail you if you do.”
Don’t lose your baby girl, Heinrich! Man up and act like a parent.
Steffi kinda disappeared in that last panel… But anyway, doesn’t Herr Frolich know about her being Blitz? Why would she hide these things from him?
It’s one thing to fight crime in a giant robot, its another to go into a bar and kidnap dangerous criminals.
If she doesnt explain he might make assumptions based on what she already said ^^;
My thoughts exactly.
He be thinkin…
This webcomic just keeps getting better and better. This is some serious and skilled writing. This comic has action, comedy and drama in all the right amounts and well-blended together. And the expression of Heinrich in the last panel- perfectly done.
Only one other comic I know that can be kick-ass fun and then at the next second pull on your heart.
which is?…. please share
Is it Dumbing of Age? Observe for example the mood whiplash over these three strips http://www.dumbingofage.com/2013/comic/book-3/02-guess-whos-coming-to-galassos/aprilfools/
Gunnerkrigg? Dead Winter? Paranatural?
C’mon man, the suspense is figuratively killing me!
Don’t leave us hanging.
Spinnerette? Order of the Stick? EGS?
Is it sad that I know two out of those three, plus DOA that TPMan mentioned?
Well, it is a bit sad that you only know two out of three.
Hahaha, are you all wondering about the other comic I was talking about?
It’s such a great narrative. How Tyson Hesse could get so much comedy gold and great action while following an interesting plot is astounding! My favorite webcomic, with Everblue not far behind.
And the backstory about Rittz’s childhood? Ah, my heart could hardly handle it..
STEFFI, YOU SUCK AT LYING. Please hurry up and learn this.
Since I just finished reading the archives yesterday, all I can say is “Squeeeee!”
Hanging out with a hacker bot in tow Steffi, leads to one’s mind going down gutters. You don’t want that with your dad.
Uh oh. I can hear the melancholy minimalist piano medley playing in the background even as we speak…
But…. but one page is not enough space!! We need AT LEAST half a chapter devoted to Heinrich Frolich’s backstory.
Agreed! Heinie Frolich deserves a bit o’ story to explain WHY he just said what he said. It’s not something to ignore, Mare! IF you’re gonna traverse this path of storyline, it’d be best if’n y’all just give some credence to why Heinie’s the guy he is. Why’d the missus beat it? Upset with having a young’un? Upset with Heinie’s obsession with robotics? Anger over Heinie’s family’s past catchin’ up and screwing up their daughter’s life?
It WOULD be good to kind of show all this: since you’re gettin’ a mite heavy on this storyline, that’d be the way.
It’s your strip. It’s your call. Y’all do what’s best.
Hopefully we’ll get that right now, or at least rather soon.
The comic got a lot more interesting when we learned about Steffi’s ancestry and their involvement in WW3. (And that that was a thing.)
Heinrich is such an interesting character. Leading the world in robo tech with all that comes with it: the assassination attempts and interesting pals that send him illegal technology.
And he’s still such a fun and loving father to boot.
This whole situation just changed from totally silly to dead serious.
This has gone from what seems like it would be a happy moment for Heinrich to an utterly terrifying one. And one that brings terrifying memories.
If it wasn’t so sad and well-written I’d be laughing at the irony of the “Bitchin’” poster that’s been behind them the whole time.
That poster has led to a number of bizarre-feeling pages.
Wow, he looks really old and sad in this update. Good work Cube!
Hey, whoa, daddy-o, slow down there. That’s some “holy shit, think about what you just said there, man” emotional blackmail stuff right there.
Come on Steffi, use your head. You know he going to go ask the robot.
