Good and bad news.
CLIFFNOTES VERSION: For the next few weeks, KB will be taking a break, and the site will be updating M-F with Mango pages.

As those of you who read my blog know, I’m spending the summer creating a 30-page pitch comic for Scholastic. I’m currently on page 12, which isn’t bad, but I really need to increase my speed if I want to be done at a reasonable time. The problem is, of course, that KB pages take me twice as long to make, and the site updates twice a week. This has led to me updating late and cutting artistic corners, while I’m still not producing my other project at a reasonable rate. AKA, they’re both suffering.
I’m also not sure whether this is a direct result of this situation or not, but lately I’ve been feeling really bad about KB. I know it’s silly, but I’m struggling a lot more than I used to with certain pages and panels, and feeling crappy about them when they’re done. Hopefully taking a bit of a break will give me some perspective, as well as some time to script out my pages for once, which is something I generally skip out of laziness. Hopefully this’ll lead to a stronger comic over all.
Therefore, for the next few weeks, I’ll be really cracking down on Mango. I’ll also be posting each page up here. My plan is to update five days a week, monday through friday. This means that the hiatus will last a bit less than 4 weeks, after which KB will resume as normal. I’ll also go back and delete the pages from the archive afterward so future readers don’t get confused.
Sorry to do this to you guys, especially those of you sticking through the summer (when readership always drops off somewhat). But hopefully you’ll enjoy Mango, since it is a silly cute action comedy as I generally do. I’ll update with a blog containing pages 1-12 that you can click through with light box to catch up, and Monday will start with page 13.
Um… right! I KNOW THE PERFECT WAY TO END THIS. Go watch this awesome new K-on ending and you’ll lose all anger towards me! The best! RIGHT GUYS?

Ahem. In all seriousness, don’t sweat it. At the very least you’re giving us another comic to read in the meantime, which is more than most webcomics out there offer. Now grind that Mango.

Nah, it’s cool! Mango is just as awesome. I actually saw that ending last night. (Also saw someone do a DDR typing version of it too.) The only thing bad though is now that kid has to hold a bomb for almost 4 weeks XD
I don’t have anger towards you… Mango is adorable and has a plot–supposedly >.>–so I’m alright with that. Still gonna watch the K-On!! ED, though. That show is is made of cutesauce drizzled over winmusic.
Absolutely no problem! As already said, giving us a glimpse at another comic you’re doing is no problem at all.
In fact, I don’t think you should delete them from the archives either. The blog posts are attached anyway; no one should get too confused. Heck a small intermission page would make it even clearer, but would be unnecessary.
You never need to apologize for giving us MORE content ^_^

BUT K-ON MAKES ME FURIOUS
The archives for the new Mango comic really don’t have to be deleted from the site. WordPress+Comicpress has categories. You could just create a new Mango category and throw Mango comics in it so that they don’t mix with the KB archive and categories.
Aww, don’t feel bad, we all love you. I’m totally looking forward to Mango!
And yes, the new K-On ED is AMAZING AS USUAL
I’ll just think of it as a delightfully unexpected twist on Kiwi Blitz. You’re a fantastic artist and you shouldn’t apologize for artistic integrity.
You’re still providing good content and I still look forward to what you have to show us. If you’re updating goes from twice a week to M-F, who am I to complain?
That being said, I still like your Kiwi Blitz pages, even if you feel unsatisfied with them. Keep up the good work and I wish you the best.
Cube….you should not be ashamed. Mango is just as awesome as KB, and the fact that it’s going to be updated M-F only makes it better. Seriously. It’s wayyyy better than doing nothing at all. So don’t be ashamed!
One’s jobs always have to take priority over hobbies, even if those hobbies might eventually earn a living. I’d much rather wait longer for Kiwi Blitz than for you to draw it in a way you feel is incomplete.
something that has absoulutely nothing to do with the hiatus or Mango: i discovered that if you listen to the first part of the song New Born by Muse, before the epic guitar riff, while reading Kiwi Blitz, it makes everything seem as though it’s in slow motion. It’s really cool.
I just wanted to pop by and say that, even though I’m probably a month or two behind and someone’s already told you about this, “feed” in the last panel is misspelled. I just have a tendency to comment on such things because things like that bug me for some reason <:X
Awesome as usual. Gear is epic. I did notice a typo tho. When Benzene is talking he says “Audio feeed” instead of “Audio feed” Just thought I’d let you know.
