And I don’t think it’s actual furries. I doubt genetics are on the forefront of technology as much as robotics and shiny new limbs, which leads me to conclude that they have prostheses, but they’re animal themed in nature, or some kind of cybernetic/biotech alterations.
Meh. Much to the chagrin of furries everywhere, they’re still a minor enough presence as to make them an acceptable target. Plus their modus operandi is confused enough as to make the entire concept humourous.
Same with other similar groups like therianthropes and otherkin. Their tendency to play into the idealistic “best of both worlds” attitude makes it difficult to take them seriously, which just bolsters their impotent outrage.
I figure some of them are confused transpecies, while others are just plain confused.
At some level I kinda sympathise, since relatively speaking they’re no more ridiculous than most religious people… but sometimes I suspect they have no idea just how irritatingly human they really are.
With all the cybernetics, I was wondering if genetic manipulation would ever come up in KB!
I’ve also been eager to find out about Alter since it was first hinted at.
For the record, most of the furries I know are BADASSES. So I wouldn’t mess with ‘em!
Given Cube’s art style, this has the potential to be the most adorable team of badass villains ever. It might still be grim and gritty, but I’m hoping for the adorability angle. It would just be that good.
wow…evil furries. i don’t want to go to there…
Too late, we’re already there.

Thus, “Alter”.
Gasp, attack of the furry fandom D:
Could be worse. Imagine the bronydom coming with their orbital cannon plans of bombing everyone with love and tolerance. XD
That would actually be pretty awesome. And hey James. Good to see you around this neck of the woods.
In the end, all such furry groups turn to evil. True story.
Define ‘evil’.
“I mean, shucks, he’s just a kid you know?”
I’m going to guess that the Mini Bosses would probably be a Dog and a Cat, too mainstream.
And the Furry boss would be… Lets go hardcore, Platypus modded char /o/
Have you seen the pics of the goat-looking man on her DA page she posted forever ago?
My FACE.
Steffi, it’s a good thing you’ve got looks and ‘bot skillz, ’cause Detective Batman, you ain’t.
Good thing you know a real cop, eh?
Oh God. There’s going to be so much internet backdraft for that last panel. Duck and Cover!!!

Evil Furry Squad is the name of my Flaming Lips cover band.
I think they were called Splicers. Not like Bioshock splicers though. There was one guy spliced with a hyena they called Woof.
This made me laugh out loud, and then show my sister what was so funny.
Also, Reed has nipples now, I see.
Careful Steffi, or you might give something away.
That guy?? Him? OMGoodness!! Unless you changed his name how exciting!!!
Ehem. Anyway– I would love to see all these evil “furry” designs, sounds very intresting.
‘Help! The EFS is attacking!’
‘We’re under attack? Everyone on – ….wait, what’s the EFS?’
‘Evil Furry Squad.’
‘Oh. Never mind then.’
Also, Poster Steffi looks like a happy version of ‘come at me bro’. I like it.
Genetic splicers? Reminds me of an angle I’m familiar with. XD I really like said angle, though. ^^ …though Steffi’s reaction is priceless.
You know, the fact that they HAVE furries in the future, where body modification is a thing, opens up a real, of fascinating, terrifying possibility.
:I Evil furries?
….
XD I think I just died of laughter! (I got better.)
tread carefully here >:(

Two things:
First, Do we get Hawthorne?
Second, Does Chandra get turned into a Raccoon Hybrid.
Foreshadowing! Or would be backshadowing in the case of the last panel?
No, the foreshadowing would have been way back when Raccoon first mentioned her employers. Now it’s coming back around for the payback on that set-up!
Chekov’s Sidenote?
Oh? You can’t have multiple cases of foreshadowing?
Quick, get Batman, Robin, and every Spider Man villain ever and throw them in a volcano before they join Altar.
What about Catwoman?
Catwoman will be spared, due to cleavage
LOL! yess….so much cleavage~

And hopefully they’re all as nuts as Batman’s villains!
all in favor of stopping the esf say aye. aye! all aposed say nye.
NYE, Bill Nye…
Would have a lot to say about this.
lol
Did anyone else notice that even if Reed heard the almost-slip up from Steffi, he could’ve probably assumed she was about to curse?
Very lucky there, Steffi. Very lucky.
See, now I’m imagining a Furry based motorcycle gang… and their special seats for the tails…
